Frosh, Busted!
Sorry for the delay, everyone. I know how eager you are to read more or my fratty stories. I’ve been trying really hard to go in chronological order, but I just can’t remember what happened when. Or often what happened.
I black out a lot.
But anyways, today’s story fast forwards almost all the way to the end of my first semester. We were celebrating the Leprechaun’s birthday. The big 1-9. Not that exciting, I know. But anyways, we found out about a place around town that didn’t card when you ordered dinner there. Obviously, we were all about that.
A week or so earlier, it had snowed a whole hell of a lot. Everyone was freaking out, but coming from where I’m from, it was an average amount. The removal here, however, sucked balls, and there was snow on the streets for a good week after the storm. Campus was frozen over. One time it took me an hour to get to a damn ATM. But I digress. We piled in HugeKids Land Rover and braved the incredibly dangerous streets.
We ended up hanging out at the restaurant for a good 2 or 3 hours, ordering mad pitchers, (everyone except HugeKid of course. Never drink and drive). Drinking in public for the first time at a legitimate establishment was kind of exciting for me and the gang. Maybe thats what energized us to continue our binge in the dorms. Not a great idea, really. I mean, for one, our dorm was dry. If an RA happened to surprise us, we’d be boned. Theoretically, that is. But we did it anyways.
The night carried on relatively event free. From what I remember, nobody got too out of control. We just had a good time getting hammered together in Llloyd’s and the Lep’s room. But if nothing really happened, I wouldn’t have a story, would I?
As you probably inferred from the title of the post, we were caught. How you ask? Fucking. Facebook.
Throughout the course of the night, Attackin’ was snapping candid photos of the action. Some of them were pretty sweet, too. But he had the bright idea to put the photos on Facebook, and when our friend the RA happened to do a little creepin’….bam. Busted.
We all got letters in our mailboxes, stating we had a meeting with the Area Coordinator. We were all kind of nervous, because we didn’t know what to expect. We knew we weren’t in danger of getting expelled, but we were in danger of our parents finding out. And lets just say, some of our parents are definitely cooler than others. And honestly, none of them would be cool with us doing something THAT stupid. But we did it.
The sweetest part was, though, and it may have been partially due to the timing of it all, that we NEVER GOT IN TROUBLE. They had photographic evidence to use against us, and they just chose not to. We lucked out, I guess. But just so you kids learn a lesson…don’t post pictures on Facebook you don’t want your Facebook friends to see. Careful who you confirm, kids. Use those privacy settings.
Love y’all. Come back tomorrow for a great one. Be forewarned, it may be the best story from the first year.
